Overview

This YHA hostel is set in a beautifully converted 240-year-old former granary. This Grade II listed building offers self-catering accommodation with private bathrooms and an art gallery.

The rooms are set around a courtyard, and most of them have bunk beds. A large, shared kitchen has a microwave and plenty of pots and pans. Guests can relax in the lounge or watch TV in the TV room.

The YHA Berwick overlooks the River Tweed, and there is direct access to the quay through a tunnel. There are many shops and restaurants within just a 5-minute walk, or guests can follow the Lowry Trail around this historic town.

The ground floor bistro is open all day and serves home-cooked snacks, meals and drinks.

Berwick-Upon-Tweed is the northernmost town in England, and is surrounded by countryside perfect for walking and cycling.

Alnwick Castle, used as Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter films, is a 35-minute drive away.

Please note that towels are not included in the room rate. Guests can hire them at the property or bring their own. A non-member supplement equivalent to GBP 3 per person per night will be charged on arrival for those guests not in possession of a valid YHA (England & Wales) Ltd or equivalent IYHF/ Hostelling International membership card. All bookings made via Booking.com for more than 16 people will not be accepted by YHA and will be cancelled.
